My JOURNEY
One of the greatest joys I have had in my lifetime is training the female athlete. I have learned so much over the incredible journey that I have had. The future of ensuring athletic performance is in the recovery. The history and the research that has been done with red and infrared light therapy is unequivocal, it works! I want to share the applied sports science with the Rio Grande Valley and its many wonderful athletes.
Dr. G
Hello
My name is Dr. Juan Gonzalez, CSCS
I am an Applied Exercise Physiologist, Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) and work within the Department of Health and Human Performance (HHP) within the College of Health Professions at The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV). I received my doctorate degree in Exercise/Respiratory Physiology from Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas.

What started out as a favor for someone to train a phenomenal soccer athlete back in 1994, cultivated into my life's passion of training the female athlete. My specialty is working with the female athlete that has an injury or is coming back from an injury or the one that no one can figure out why the athletic performance is not materializing.
This website is dedicated to sharing with the viewer what I have learned through the years. The key to performance is not just in the workouts but in how the athlete recovers from that workout. I want to humbly share with athletes how to recover better through the benefits of red and infrared light therapy.
With Much Respect,
Dr. G

After completing his training at Texas A&M University, Dr. Gonzalez returned to his home in the Rio Grande Valley. He soon discovered a lack of research and sports science based training for the female athlete. Dr. G quickly addressed the areas of performance testing, individual training, sports nutrition, mental coping skills, biomechanical analysis of sport movement, and academic enrichment. Each athlete is developed an individual athletic profile based on scientific testing. A customized athletic conditioning program is derived specifically to address the athlete’s strengths and deficiencies. As the athlete progresses, adjustments are made to the training program to continue to gain improvement in athletic performance. In the young female athlete, this means developing functional sport specific strength. Dr. G creates smooth, well organized, science-based training programs that can be adjusted as needed to the individual’s needs. This enhances athletic performance while minimizing injury risk in a safe, fun, and positive atmosphere.
